Spread over two modest-sized floors, DJs will spin a mix of party jams and tech house. $50 and up. [b] [/b][b]One Night Stand IV[/b] When: 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.Where: Media Club, 695 Cambie St. An intimate indie affair, perfect for musical locavores. Vancouver darling Hannah Georgas will play nostalgic cover songs from five decades alongside members of Mother Mother, Brasstronaut, Siskyou and Rococode. Tickets are $35 in advance, $40 at the door.[b] [/b] [b]Shangri-La Hotel NYE Gala[/b]When: 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Where: Shangri-La Hotel, 1128 West Georgia St.Like last year, Vancouver’s sky-high, five-star hotel boasts a real-time visual countdown clock, canapés courtesy of Jean-Georges of Market restaurant and a complimentary glass of midnight bubbly. If the mandatory formal dress code doesn’t keep all the riff-raff out, the 23-plus gents and 21-plus ladies age restriction surely will. DJs Stimulant J and C-Styles will be playing house, top 40, dance, R&B and ‘90s, party anthems. Sold out in November, but a few refunded tickets still available for $180. House of Celebs go-go dancers will take revellers on a fairy tale adventure while DJs Drew and Zach Shore supply the non-stop fabulous tunes.[b] [/b] [b]You CAN[/b]When: 7p.m. Where: Red Card Sports Bar, 900 Seymour St.For those who enjoy partying for a cause, or simply can’t miss the Canucks play the Kings, Red Card has the best game in town. With a 25-plus age restriction, gourmet canapés, champagne and Cirque performers, exclusivity never quite felt so inviting. $140 and up. [b] [/b][b]Ceili’s House Party 2012[/b] When: 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.Where: Ceili’s Downtown, 670 Smithe St. Dressing fancy is not for everybody. Sneakers and T-shirts welcome at Ceili’s come-as-you-are Irish social. Midnight champagne and buffet for $40.[b] [/b] [b]Society[/b]When: 9:30 p.m. Where: Society, 1257 Hamilton St.See local hip-hopper Kyprios of Sweatshop Union bring down the house after an à la carte dinner service available between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. Tickets start at $85, includes limited open bar and canapés. [b] [/b][b]The Bimini[/b] When: 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.Where: The Bimini Public House, 2010 West Fourth Ave. After four years of renovation, the Bimini in Kitsilano has opened its doors just in time for the ball to drop. DJ Relly Rels will be spinning indie, dance and chart-toppers well past the countdown.
