If you are looking to shoot pictures with dreamy and beautiful bokeh, this lens is for you! This is a very special and hard to find lens which produces very special bokeh effect - it gives great swirly bokeh and very soft bokeh (please refer to the attached pictures). The lens is a Russian made Zeiss copy and it's great for portraits or for events.
According to the RFF member who sold me this, this lens was a special prototype of the Helios 40 (notice the early serial number) which received special quality control attention. It was manufactured before the Helios 40-2 but it has the same multi-coated coating on the lens and produces great photos with sharpness which is equal to the 40-2!
The lens has normal amounts of dust in it, some light scratches on the front and back elements and some oil on the aperture blades none of which affect the photos.
I've used this lens primarily on my Canon 7D and I've also used it on a Pentax Spotmatic and Pentax SV and the Helios 40T has produced great results on all cameras.
